Royal Mail is doing all it can to keep the deliveries moving through the Winter weather.
They have already taken on around 20,000 temporary staff to deal with the increase in seasonal post but have now taken on a further 3000 people to help deal with things during the severe weather conditions. This is also on top of an extra 250 HGVs to help shift those parcels around!
You’ll not be surpised to learn that the majority of the extra staff and logistics are being deployed in Northern England and Scotland – the areas worst hit by the snow and ensuing disruption. To emphasise the impact the weather has had, Royal Mail has also temporarily rescinded it’s next day guarantee on Special Deliveries.
